Hey all,

Just wondering if anyone can reccomend a good gaming PC? what should i be looking for in a gaming PC etc? <_<

The reason I ask is that after a hard day i love to play on my laptop and watch a bit of TV. Only problem is i now have a very serious burn on my thigh from the fan (I mean its weeping and everything EW) so I want to invest in a desktop :D any ideas are welcome :D

In general: it is very dangerous to place your laptop on your lap when working!

About the question: depends on what games you play, what your budget is.
A good 3D card is important. Lots of ram memory.

haha I have to put it on my lap cos Im a bit on the blind side (as in Iv been known to walk into doors cos i didnt see them!)

I have a budget of about a grand with a monitor on top of that. Which company do you reccomend as i have seen a couple of high spec ones from Dell, HP, Packard bell and an Acer?

do you want to play really new and heavy games? if so, then you will not be satisfied with a pc that cost a grand.
Games evolve so quick that a pc (of a grand) is old after a few months.
If you really want a great gaming experience you will need to buy something more expensive to make sure you can keep up with newer games.
(check dell by example: the game-computers they have are about 4 times a grand)

However if you play rahter normal games (not that much in graphic details etc.) then you can buy a good dell computer.
I am a fan of dell: never had problems with those computers and they work fine for many years.

Acer is also good: cheaper then the others and still ok.

I would recommend to check the graphic cards of the computers and check for the ddr ram.
The size of the disk itself (how much you can store) is less important (unless you want to store really a lot?)
So you can save some money on that.

really: what games do you play? This does make a huge difference in the pc you need!

Im too embarrassed to tell you what I play.. I will say however its a highly popular MMORPG paradied by south park (then again what hasnt been parodied by southpark) :$

I found Dell a wee bit expensive, but I know they are halfway decent. The acer looks promising as you get more graphics memory for your money I suppose.

If you could link me a reccomendation id be ever so grateful <_< im terrible at computery things

Check the file I have attached.

You should check the M7... series of pc (starting from page 6).
Those are designed for gaming.

those pc's are ok and pricewise very ok.

You could check the site yourself and download the file in your own langauge. I do not know from what country you are so I downloaded the file from the website in my country.
(the specifics are in english , but some text is in dutch)

if what you want is to play videogames i'd recommend getting a console rather than a computer. personally i enjoy the wii very much but a better option (for serious gamers) is a ps3.
when it comes to xbox vs ps3, i definitely go for the ps3.
if you still want a computer and your budget allows it (you might spend some £2,000 for the best option) go for alienware http://www.alienware.co.uk/main.aspx
