Hello everyone.
Do you guys think by studying the characters of bacteria that can degrade caffeine from coffee will give you an advantages in industrial biotechnology career? Whats you guys' opinion about this?
I'm a bachelor student of biotech (final year) and will do a project about characterization of bacteria degrading caffeine from coffee.

In terms of techniques and the like- probably yes.

But why would anyone want to degrade caffeine from coffee?

(and if you did want to, why on earth would you use a bacteria? Can you imagine anyone in the wider non-scientific community being comfortable with drinking de-caf manufactured by bacteria? Especially given the rise in antibacterial products and germaphobia!)
