How will a postdoc career help after ph.d?

I believe it depends on what you want to do.

If you want to go into research, then yes a post doc will most certainly help.

BUt if you want to go do something else, then it depends I guess.

A general plan of where you want to go would be helpful for any of us who could provide some advice.
