Seeking suggestions on undergraduate’s innovative research.. - (Jan/26/2010 )

Hey everybody ;)
I’m an undergraduate student in bioengineering .i am planning with several other partners in the school to conduct an innovative scientific research which closely related to my major.
I just want to collect some specific ideas about what we can do?
Our institute of biological technology is closely focused on microbiology.
Main on the field as follow:
1. Microbial metallurgy in the material processing….
2. Environmental microbiology, such as recovery of polluted water with Activated Sludge, transformation of recycled resources…
3. Industrial microbiology such as Breeding of industrial microbiology, microbial ferment ….

With professors’ guidance, I don’t think our limited knowledge will be the main barrier.
Now, What we need most is the research’s subject which is practical and creative.
I sincerely want to hear any tips or suggestions from you all !
Thank you very much. ;)
Yours,
Li from China.

Li from China,

first of all, you MUST be patient. your last post seems a bit pushy since not a lot of time had passed. my tip to you is that based on the things you know how to do, and with the facilities there are available at the place where you're working (or planning to) you talk to the professor who will be supplying you with unlimited knowledge and get an idea sorted out.

when you have a clear idea of what you want to do then more people here will be able to support you. don't expect to come here and get told a brilliant idea for your innovative project.

that idea has to come from you and the colleagues you'll be working with.
