- Silica Based DNA Purification from Various Sources (Janos Luka Ph.D., Department of Pathology, Eastern Virginia Medical School)
In the presence of high salt DNA binds to silica particles then the silica with adsorbed DNA washed to remove salt and impurities from the original sample, and the clean DNA eluted in water or TE buffer. This isolation method of DNA is faster (20 minutes typically) and easier to perform than the other organic-based extraction method.
