Nervous System Questions - (Sep/22/2005 )

1.) What is the difference between a reflex arc and regular nerve impulse's pathway?

2.) Explain the job of the sodium-potassium pumps which are embeddd in the cell membranes of neurons.

3.) Saltatory Condunction speeds impulse conduction. Explain why this is true. (I can't find this in my text book)

i am sorry, but that is basic neurophysiology, you should find the answers to your questions in ANY physiology book. I coud improvise and answer your questions, but for you it is a lot more easier to just look those things up at a book with good images and extended explanations.

Ok i think ur looking at these questions in the rong way,

if ur book doesn't tell u straight forward the job of the sodium-potassium pump then think about the what the effect would be without it, think about why saltatory conduction is there.

As for ur first question, look at the way its termed, the question gives a lot of clues.

Answering questions isn't about repeating something you've been told, its about showing what u understand from the knowledge you've been given ..... and dont cheat it wont help u at all.
