anyone has EcR293 cells? - (Sep/14/2005 )
hi dear all
Invitrogen used to sell these cells which 293 cells are staly transfected with pVgRX., but now they stop selling them. I wondered anyone used them? and can give me an aliquot of it. I can pay the shipping fees. I am in UK.
Thanks a lot.
I am sorry that I don't have it.
Have you started the Ecdysone-Inducilbe System yet?
If not, you can try T-REX system.
Both of them have similar functions and applications.

Why not transfecting the ecotropic receptor into the 293 cells and making a polyclonal cell line?
Maybe the ATCC have them. Check at their website in www.atcc.com
Thank all for your kindly reply.
I did check the atcc, but did not find this line. I want to use it EcR293 cell line, it is a stable cell line, so can save me lots time other than transfected by myself. maybe kind of lazy.
anyway if anyne has it, please contact me. Thanks a lot
If you need the ECR293 cells there is a paper that came out in 2002 in which the authors used that stable cell line to induce over-expression of human HP1 homologs and study genome-wide changes. The reference is (attached):
Hwang, K.-K., and H.J. Worman (2002). Gene regulation by human orthologs of Drosophila
heterochromatin protein 1. Biochem. Biophys. Res. Comm., 293:1217-1222.
They probably still have the cell line and would most likely send you some, along with the pIND vectors, etc. needed for cloning and expression.
Best regards
