mirVana miRNA detection kit - help (Sep/11/2005 )

blink.gif Hi, does anyone try this kit to detect short hairpin RNA used for RNAi? is it really good as they claim in the ambion website? Thanks alot!

hi
unfortunately too expensive for my lab. But seems very sensitive as i heared of it.

I am in the process of optimizing the protocol....there's alot of variables to test to get it working just right.

What variables are you examining out of interest

Right now I am trying to control the amount of RNase and the amount of RNA to load. The one thing that you definited don't want to do is run the gel for 1hrs. This just makes the bands really faint (hardly visible).

Are you working with this kit as well??

I have gotten to the point where I can see expected bands but there seems to be a smear so right now I am testing different dilutions of RNase.
