Can Taq pol elongate over biotin? - (Aug/31/2005 )

I'm wondering if Taq polymerase can elongate over an integrated biotin.

I know it is possible to incorporate biotin labelled nucleotides in PCR, but does the Taq actually work on templates that already have a biotin integrated?

assuming biotin doesn't interfer with base pair formation, i would tell it's feasible.
