Genomic DNA purification from few Tissue Cultured cells - (Aug/26/2005 )
I need to purify genomic DNA from very small amount of cells (approximately 10^3). Does anybody know a kit or protocoll where so few cells are sufficient? My samples are quite precious and I want to proceed with PCR. Thanks a lot...

Qiagen makes a pretty good kit. I have sucessfully extracted genomic dna with it.

Hi.
You can use Qiagen's kit. I use Puregene from Gentra, ít's the best! You can extract DNA with excellent quality from all kind of samples. I use it for everything, like direct amniotic fluid (not cultures of amniotic cells), because the sample volume and the number of cells is very low. Check out Gentra's website (www.gentra.com), they have lots of suggestions and protocols.
