CS antibodies - (Aug/24/2005 )

Hi,
probably a stupid question:
antibodies that have name beginning with CS
are that cell supernatants from hybridoma's?
thus always monoclonals?
Can they also be derived from rabbit spleen cells or only from mouse?
thnx

Sorry I am not sure what you mean, I haven't come by an antibody with the name cs huh.gif

For example:

anti-RNA polymerase III (cs377)
in Mol Cell Biol 2004 24, 5989-5999

cs377 is certainly the name of the clone used to produce this mAb

So then it is from a hybridoma? Can it be rabbit?

It could be, but probably is not.
Rabbit hybridomas are relatively new. They have just come out in the past year or two.
