Blast result: DBSOURCE - (Jul/07/2005 )
Does “DBSOURCE” from a blast search means the name of the organism where the target comes from? For example I search for TrpA. Does it mean that Escherichia coli strain ECOR49 (I clicked on the accession number of DBSOURCE) has this TrpA gene?

Sure looks like the database source for that protein ID. That would be my guess. Organism is a different field, so don't assume that this means the organism where it comes from. Lots of protein IDs have accession numbers, some have unigene numbers, some have Ensmbl numbers, these are all different database sources for a variety of organims.
