NP-40 or Triton-X-100? - (Jun/30/2005 )
Dear colleagues
I am doing coimmunoprecipitation, I want to get as much proteins which bind to my bail protein as possible. do you have any suggestion about the IP buffer? As detergent, NP-40 or Triton-X-100 which one is more suitable?
Thank you
Terry

hi
i know that non ionic detergents or soft detergents are more suitable for such assays. hence i would recommend triton X100.
but there is an article that may give more infos : Solubilisation effect of Nonidet P-40, triton X-100 and CHAPS in the detection of MHC-like glycoproteins.
