Just a silly little question that has been bugging me for a while...

why use a quartz cuvette to quantitate DNA?

Some plastics fluoresce at the wavelengths used by the UV spec. There are, however, UV transparent plastic cuvettes available.

yes, I was using a plastic one and the postdoc was aghast that I wasnt using the quartz cuvette! I just didnt know why. I will ask him tomorrow and see what he says.
