regarding review writing - (Jun/21/2005 )

hi buddies,
I got some doubts regarding review writing which I ve listed below, hope to know your ideas which ll help me a lot.
Is it necessary that the reviewer should have publications in that particular area?
Shall we go through other reviews too to make a new review?
I got some starting problem, after collecting some relevant articles I got stuck, how to initiate and proceed?
whats the best approach for review writing?

have a nice day
cheers

Hi,

To write a review for publication, you may not necessarily be required to be an expert, but you really need to have a good and comprehensive understanding of the field. You should at least have published a few original papers in the filed. Although some journals accept unsolicated reviews, most reviews are invited and are written by experts.

You have to read a lot of original paper, to summarize other's data, come up with your conclusions. You cannot base your review on somebody else review although you can cite review papers in your review.

Hope that helps. Good luck.
