Insulin Units to milligram convertion - (Jun/12/2005 )

Human Actrapid Insulin is provided as 100 U/ml. I want to use it instead of Human recomb Insulin from sigma which comes as 100mg/ml. I use 10ug/ml of insulin in my media. Can anyone recommend me the quickest way to find how to convert 100U/ml of actrapid insulin to mg/ml without measuring its protein.

Can you tell me how much Units of Insulin is needed for MCF10A cell culture???

Thanks.
R

I do not use Human Actrapid Insulin, so I can't tell you anything about Unit conversion. Perhaps you can call the manufacture?

I use Insulin from Sigma (I-5500). Final concentration of Insulin for MCF-10A is 10 ug/ml.

Good luck.
