I wanna know a certain dye which stabilize phenol while total RNA isolation.Thanx in advance.

I expect that you are referring to 8-hydroxyquinoline which when added to the phenol at a concentration of 0.1% (w/v) aids in the inactivation of ribonucleases.Pure phenol oxidises easily, particularly when exposed to light, forming pink oxidation products, quinones. The addition of 8-hydroxyquinoline stabilises the phenol and imparts a yellow colour to the solution.8-hydroxyquinoline also chelates heavy metals, the presence of which can cause degradation of RNA over a period.
