DNA contamination in RNA extraction - (Jun/03/2005 )

Hi,
I´ve been performing RNA extractions and although I cannot see genomic DNA in the gel I got and amplificate with introns. What can I do besides try to not touch the interphase ? Please send any original hint

HI,
You can try to treat your RNA sample with DNase. Try touse more unit of DNase or incubate for a longer duration.
However, you have to deactivate the DNase and purify your template first before you proceed to RT-PCR, because DNase might interfere your PCR reaction.
