What is the distance between a forward and reverse primer - (Jun/02/2005 )

hello,

i'm currently still schooling and is assign to do a project. This problem i have is about this project. I know that there will be a certain distance that separate the Forward and Reverse primer in an amplicon. May i ask what is the maximum/minimum distance that is accepted? Hope to hear from you soon!

i usually take 500bp as a minimum size for an amplification. For maximal amplification, i know there's resources for amplifying more than 15kpb... In order to do a sequencing, i usually places the insert at minimum 100bp away from the zone i cloned my insert.
