siRNA transfection into neurons - (Apr/11/2005 )

i'm trying to transfect motoneurons with siRNA. I know that using lipofectamine/oligofectamine is toxic and that electroporation kills a lot of cells. does anyone else know more successful ways of getting siRNA into neurons without massive cell death?

thanx,

hi
gene porter 2 (ozyme) shows less toxicity on different cell types... i didn't get informations about neurons and this transfection agent...

i've an advertisment of DharmaFECT in many cell types. IT seems to have very low cytotoxcicity...

My lab has been using GenCarrier-2 on primary cortical neurons. It works every time and very consistent result. We did not see much cytotoxicity after transfection.
