Lyophilized enzymes - (Apr/02/2005 )

It says "Lyophilized enzymes tend to be very hygroscopic so they should not be opened in humid areas. Be sure that any vial has been brought to room temperature before opening. Ideally, the vials should be taken from the refrigerator at least a half hour before opening, and they should be left in a dessicator. "

WHat does it mean with leaving the bottle in the dessicator? Should the dessicator be turned on? huh.gif

Thanks.

hi

a dessicator is a device that takes out the humidity from the air present inside it and eventually from the chemicals that enter tht dessicator
usually the chemicals that are known to absorb water are kept in a dessicator to keep them well
how it works depend on the type you have
hope this explanation is good smile.gif
