development of antibiotic resistance - after resistance development, how can i upgrade my work? pls help (Dec/28/2008 )

am developing resistance in a microorganism. after resistance development, what is the next step i can do..?? how can i upgrade the project..?? please help me..

find out how microb developed said resistance, then try to find a method/drug that kills the microb, preferably via a mechanism that the microb will have alot of trouble developing counter measures. That is the fairly typical thing to do.

Gather from the nature of the orignal post that the person is not esp experienced in micro and detailing the basis for resistance may be too much.

Suggest the next step is to see if the resistance is maintained or disappeasrs in extended subculture. You might also see if resistance (to what?) is specific to that antimicrobal or general.
