Cost Cutting- Sourcing from eBay? - LifeCycler cuvettes (Dec/18/2008 )
There is oftentimes various Military Surplus Lab equip on ebay-- is it any good?-- There's some Roche Life Cycler on right now- and I see that this has been sold before---- with good feedback- so it must be okay....?

as with anything you buy through ebay, caveat emptor.

Yes, I agree. You need luck (and a trustworthy seller).
We bought once an old thermocycler for a very low price. Not comfortable but still very useful for students and standard PCRs. OTOH an autoclave we bought, melted our pipet tips. Luckily we could give it back as it was sold as working and in good condition.

surplus. the armed forces have always sold off surplus equipment (often unused and in original packaging).
it used to be done through army-navy and army surplus stores. now through ebay.
