How to inhibit trypsin? - (Dec/13/2008 )

Hi all,

I'm looking for a way to inhibit trypsin activity, probably some inhibitor smile.gif

I'd like to use trypsin to disperse clumped viral particles that I use for infection - protocol suggests that or sonification, but I don't have access to any sonificator...

I know that serum inhibits trypsin (although I don't know by which mechanism wink.gif ), but I do my infections in serum free-medium, so I have to stop trypsin activity after initial digestion step.

Thanks in advance!!!

Hi sickgirl,

You can try soybean trypsin inhibitor. I've never used it myself, but I've read alot about it being used for inactivating trypsin in serum-free media.

Hope this helps! smile.gif

Thanks,

I've heard about this soybean inhibitor, but I admit I didn't read further. I should definitely check it smile.gif
