pls recommend a serum independent expression promoter for mammalian cells - (Dec/09/2008 )

Hi,

I want to construct a stable cell line expressing the gene of interest. However, the following assay will be performed in serum withdrawl condition. I learned that the CMV promoter is serum dependent and lacking of serum in the culture medium will slience gene expression. Does anyone can recommend a serum independent promoter for mammalian cells?
