RNA extraction - RNA from 20yr old frozen breast tissue (Oct/26/2004 )
I know that is is difficult to extract good quality RNA from breast tissue at the best of times, but does anyone have a tried and tested method for extracting RNA from 20yr old frozen breast tissue?

Hi,
1. How long the tissue was stored in freezer does not matter, but how the tissue was handled before freezen does matter. The RNA integrity depends on it.
2. Try Cesium Chloride method, by which you can get rid of the fat, protein and DNA, and then get very pure RNA, but it is time consuming.
Good luck.
