Plant source for project - (Oct/29/2008 )
Hi all,
I am doing a project for 4th year on the purification of acid phosphatase from a plant source. I am also going to be looking at the levels of acid phosphatase before and after germination to see if there is any effect. Now my problem is I need a simple plant source that could somewhat grow in 5-6 week. Any suggestions?

I help out in an undergraduate practical in which the students extract enzymes from wheat germ seedlings. The seedlings take 2-3 weeks to sprout roots and a coleoptile about 5cm long and the students usually get lots of active enzyme from their preparations. Also you can buy it from many wholefoods stores,
