Protein Activity Assay With 2D Gel Spots - (Oct/28/2008 )
Hi,
I am new to biochemical techniques. Is it possible to extract spots that are zinc stained from a 2D gel done on membrane and soluble fractions and use these spots for various assays such as redox potential, EPR spectra and UV spectra? Some of these proteins may be terminal oxidases complex I, blue copper proteins and cytochromes
Thanks

what amounts do you expect a spot must have? you need excellent reconstitution protocols to compare to native proteins...
