Where do we store Laemmli? - (Oct/28/2008 )

Hello everyone..

Can someone tell me why do we keep Laemmli buffer in -20? (At least that's what we do in the lab!)

I once had left it overnight at Room Temperature but kept on using it afterwards..How bad was that?

not too bad, we leave our sample buffer at room temperature all the time. the only potential problem is that the reducing agent (2-me or dtt) may oxidize. we use 2-me. if we used dtt then we would store the solution at -20C.
