Immunohistochemistry - the best staining? - (Oct/16/2008 )
hai,
I have to do the immunohistochemistry of frozen tissue samples. These tissue samples are from virus infected chickens. i am confused as to which system to use for detection of viral antigens - either ImmunoFIuroscence or Peroxidase system. As i can see in the recent journal articles mostly peroxidase system has been employed, Experts in this field, please give me your views.
thanks in advance

I would use peroxidase system.

I would use whatever you have onhand or is available in the lab.
Personally I really like immunofluorescence, but I do a lot of combination stainings, so it is dependend on what you're looking at/for...
Also if there people around that have done either one that you know, just ask them I'm sure they can help you.
