What is L agar? - terminology (Oct/13/2008 )

Hi,all

Could anyone please tell me what is L agar,is it another name for widely used LB plate?I first saw this in an email exchange with a prof. several days ago. Could anyone give me some information on this?

Highly possible to be the plate u think because another name for it is Luria Agar hence L agar.
