you only need to design primer for actin2 and pcr from cDNA.

Hi stone,
this may be a very silly doubt but still i want to know...
is the actin sequence same in all the plants or is it plant specific
thanks

Hi

I use it in Arabidopsis. I think it is conservative in most plants.

By the way which plants do you use?

Hello,
I use Actin in both Tomato and Botrytis cineria as a control. You can use any housekeeping gene like Ubiquitin etc. You can fing primers for these genes by googling.
Here are the primers for Actin used for pearl millet,
actinF (5′-ACCGAAGCCCCTCTTAACCC-3′) and
actinR (5′-GTATGGCTGACACCATCACC-3′).

Hi Novagene,
I'm interested in mitogen activated protein kinases (MAPKs) gene family, for their role against different diseases and pathogens and abiotic stress. I'm working on arabidopsis and tomato. For functional analysis of these genes, i'm using virus induced gene silencing (VIGS) in tomato and DEX inducible RNAi system in arabidopsis.
What about you?
