Open Office - Software for Statistical Analysis (Sep/30/2008 )
I have seen papers stating they have used Excel for data analysis but never seen anyone mentioning OpenOffice. Is there a reason for that or does everyone just hesitate to mention that?

Most people probably don't use open office. I guess many people are also using statistical programs for data analysis. I mean we used excel but never mentioned it in the paper. Just wrote that the data was analyzed using such and such formula or test. That's it and we used excel to do it.

Thank U Scolix.
I was about to mention because all I needed to do was calculate mean and perform T-tests which I did with Open Office only.. I used KyPlot also but most of them I used Open Office. The universal requirement mentions that we should mention any general-use computer software we have used. So, thought of mentioning them though I found most papers skipping this.
