dna quantification - 260/280 vs 260/230 (Sep/25/2008 )
hi,
i understand that both of these ratios are for verifying DNA purity regarding proteins; 280 for aromatic aminoacids and 230 for general peptide bonds.
nevertheless im kind of wondering if the 260/230 ratio measures other types of non-protein contamination; as i have a very good 260/280 ratio, but an awful 260/230.
any tips on what this could mean? any suggestions on how to clean this?
thx!

ETOH precipitation then wash 2x wth 70% ethanol then recheck ur 260/230.
