Not needed anymore as I ruined the instrument by using plates for the MX3000 instrument... wink.gif

Hi Clare,

the plates definetly only work on the Mx4000 system as the wells are higher than for the Mx3000 system.

What happened? Well, I still haven't got my had around this - you should be able to mechanichally harm a qPCR instrument by using "too low" plates (used the Mx3000 plates on the Mx4000 instrument - twice)

but the Stratagene technician said it was a known issue - so it's no use me objecting - I'm the bloody PhD student who broke the machine now dry.gif

well, a bad reputation is better than none, I suppose... wink.gif

Oh, is the machine really broken???!!

yeah, it's an old one that won't be serviced from next year on anyway

so at least it could be worse wink.gif

do you still won't the plates? remember: they are suitable for the MX4000 only....
