Survival of the Beautiful-lest? - Bolder, Brighter, or Beautiful? (Aug/26/2008 )

While everyone is busy debating on 'evolution', I ran into this and was wondering if the survival of the fittest means survival of bolder, brighter, or more beautiful?

If anyone has really read this research, please give me the link/article. Want to know if they population is beautiful so bright or bright so beautiful.

thank you for this wink.gif cool.gif laugh.gif

Maybe curvy women are brighter as they do not spend as much time counting calories and looking out for new dietes without jo-jo effect; so more time and brain left for clever things wink.gif

But, my retrospective comparative analysis says that curvy girls are more conscious of what they eat. mellow.gif Some of those 350ml-sexy-red-coke-bottle-curvy girls stay away from the red-coke just because it has 45kcal/100ml. laugh.gif They starve themselves to be in that shape and I sometimes wonder if there is enough glucose in their blood to feed their chronicall hungry brain cells. And what next? How do they survive without icecreams? ohmy.gif

Anyways, wanted to know if there is evolutionary benefit; at least they have advantage for 'natural selection' (if men = nature)

seems I misunderstood something....I thought they were talking about women like renee zellweger in bridged jones or claudia cardinale or sophia lauren...."well fed" as we say but not fat; and healthy curves...not the starving beauty....the ones that can enjoy a good meal or even sometimes a coke wink.gif

Although beauty can be a selective advantage, I think that in this modern society wealth and brains are as desired as beauty or strength when selecting a couple to breed (yeah, that sounded weird, but that's another point of discussion).

And there's a change for everyone to spread their genes... beauty is in the eye of the beholder wink.gif

And for certain traits like intelligence there's more than genes. I am not so sure about the waist-hip ratio relationship with intelligence... I know some cases that prove the opposite!!! biggrin.gif
