Black SPots in MDA-MB-231 - (Aug/10/2008 )
Hi everyone,
Is anyone seen black spots in MDA-MB-231?
I used RPM1-1640 +10% FBS+1% Pen-Strep+1%SodiumPyruvate. and I spotted lots of black spots in the flask.
THe black spots are not moving vigorously and
The MDA cells are growing at a slowing rate, but doesnt not seem killed
The medium is not cloudy.
So hope anyone can tell me what it is? and what shall i do? TQ!

I got them sometimes for my primary cells - Dendritic cells. I also noticed no contamination with miccrobes or anything. My assumption was that those black spots could be some exosomes

A picture would most certainly help in the diagnosis of your problem ^^
But black dots are often cell debris, and are therefore not a problem.
