Phenol - chloroform - (Jul/29/2008 )

Hi...
do anyone have experience in isolation of DNA from formalin fixed tissue. initially i isolated for some sample using Phenol Chloroform method. but now am following the same procedure for both formalin fixed and fresh tissue sample. it doesnt work for formalin fixed tissues but works for fresh tissue. i dont know whr is the mistake. can anyone help me????

I don't have any experience with extracting DNA from formalin fixed tissue. However a google search indicates that the phenol-extraction method is not the best means to extract DNA from formalin fixed tissue. Other methods are available.
