Funny transcription t-shirt follow up - "I wish I were a DNA helicase so I could unzip your genes" (Jul/26/2008 )

I posted a while back about a funny t-shirt idea ("I wish I were a DNA helicase so I could unzip your genes", with the transcription initiation complex on it). I finally added color and printed a few shirts.

Yeah, I think black would be better too; however black is more expensive. Maybe the next batch I'll print in black. I'll have to sell this batch first, so tell your friends/colleagues!

This is most likely a stupid question but you make those tshirts yourself? how? I do not understand it.
You buy white thisrts and then what? How do you get the print on it?

Lots of places will put designs on tshirts - ask the undergrads in your lab where their student organizations get their tshirts printed. Most of them will lower their prices if you buy x many shirts.

I already found a t-shirt place, and have others in mind if I want to make reprints, but thanks. Which place do you use?

I sent them my design and they printed it on the shirt for me.

The first time I did it though I just drew on a shirt with a sharpie



And then I used an iron on transfer

Hehe, nice. I got a T-Shirt recently from Thermo Fisher/Dharmacon saying "life is twisted - RNAi" with a RISC complex shown (I guess, very schematic drawing).
That was nice! If only I could get rid of the label "Thermo Fisher/Dharmacon" on it ... :-/
Or my husband has one saying "Geneticists wear designer genes!"

Yeah i used to have one that said "A not so simple twist of fate" from Qiagen but i dont know what happened to it now so sad
