got kicked out of the project becuase I was "enthusiastic" - (Jul/17/2008 )
That's nothing compared to my previous supervisor who threatened to kick me out of his country, he dropped me from my first PhD because I asked him why he kept lying;
He hadn't told me that he wanted to leave for his sabbatical for 2 years when he took me as his student. He also told me that he had ordered my materials 5 months before but when I checked the order book there was no item under my name, I was new to their country and didn't know the system. he also lied to me about my salary and he still owes me a lot of money, he never paid me and also wasn't able to provide me with tumor samples even when I volunteered to travel to other cities to collect and bring the samples. He keeps tracking whatever I do from 500 kilometers away. He knows every detail of my new project. he has a spy somewhere.
He also told his former student that he will not let me leave this country with a PhD degree even if I join other teams.
so you are luckier than me.

hi toejam,
I'm going back to my country after I finish my PhD.
Jesus this all sounds so harsh and difficult. I guess everything you have to go through is ok as long as you feel that its worth it no matter what. Watch, read, learn. Although I dont agree with the PIs being always right, I bet thats what people are used to making them feel but its not true, it just isnt.

That's tough one for you. By the time you finish your research you will be a much wiser fellow in lab politics
