is there simple method to know success first strand cDNA synthesis? - (Jul/15/2008 )

Hi all,
I have make first strand cDNA for RT PCR with First strand cDNA synthesis Kit from Fermentas.In that protocol, to know quality of cDNA suggested to radiolabel cDNA product, continue with analysed by electrophoresis. Any more simple method can I do?
How the simple method to know that the first strand cDNA synthesis was successful ?
I hope, anyone help me to answer my question so that I can continue the step..

I would suggest amplifying a housekeeping gene (something that you know for sure that it's present in your samples and that the primers have been previously shown to work)
