Best Antibody for CHiP (H3K4 and H3K27) - Looking for the best antibody for histone CHiP (Jul/08/2008 )

I'm planning to do chromatin precipitation (just CHiP, not CHiP-chip) targeting histone 3 lysine 4 and histone 3 lysine 27

The species used will presumably be rat, but can be mouse if there is no anti-rat antibodies available

I looked on the internet and found some antibodies from Abcam, but not many different companies have it.

The problem with Abcam antibody is for the H3K27 (say ab6002), they haven't test it in rat and mouse, so I wonder if it will work (it's not cheap, more than $300 for 100ug)

Is there any other alternatives available?

Any experience will be very much appreciated.

Upstate make a good variety of antibodies and may have the ones you need, so give that a look.
