Removing histone proteins from nuclear protein isolation - (Jul/01/2008 )
Hello all,
I was wondering if anyone knows a protocol for removing histone proteins from a nuclear protein prep?
Thanks

You mean getting rid of histones or Histone extraction?
Former, I have no idea, and please let us know what would that be for. But you can think of incubating the extract with pan-histone Ab coated beads.
For histone extraction see these links:

I am looking for the solution to the same question!
I found a paper "Enhanced Nuclear Proteomics" by Barthelery 2008 in Proteomics helps. They said to lyse nuclei at pH 4.5, then spin down will pellet histone with DNA. But I'm not confident with how much other proteins may also pellet with the histones.
But this is the best I can find for now.
