New to Transfections! Please Help! - What specifically is the DNA in my transfection protocol??? (Jun/24/2008 )

Hello,

I am planningmy transfection experiment and am a little confused as to themeaning of the DNA I am supposed to add to the lipofectamine reagent. Does the DNA consist of the inducer, reporter construct and renilla construct? If so, what ratios should I use?Is there a formula? Please let me know if there is a good website or user bulleting describing this. I have the Lipofectamine product insert but I still do not know how to mix my DNA.

You can check many of these links to find a lot of useful hints, don't come back confused though wink.gif

The ratio renilla/reporter that I had used, if I remember correctly, 1:50, but I am sure people might be using anywhere between 1:10 to 1:500.
