Hi there,
Just wondering what exactly a "cell based system" is??...as one question in a past exam im doing says explain the relative disadvantages and advantages of studying receptor function in a cell based system compared to an organ bath and seeing as i dnt even no what a cell based system is im lost...
help!

What cell-based system means may be conclude from the context; in general, it should simply mean to utilize and analyze living cells (instead of organelles, or molecules); sometimes, it is useful to isolate distinct cells from its tissue to separate it from cell-cell connecting or parakrine effects
