Apoptotic DNA ladder or not? - (Jun/12/2008 )

Hello,
I've used an Apoptotic DNA Ladder Kit from Roche Molecular Biochemicals to investigate apoptosis. I'm wondering if anyone can possibly shine a light on what my results mean. There are more bands, but it doesn't look like the dna ladders i've seen in other articles.... Thanks so much in advance![attachment=4821:apoptosis.JPG]

I used to work for Roche but I am using a Calbiochem kit, my ladders (my apoptotic DNA samples) really look like ladders, not like what you've got.

,....I'd suggest doing it again....and note that when you have apoptosis for adherent cells you may have some cells floating in the media, so it's better to do run another gel only with the floating cells. don't discard the media after apoptosis.

although the lanes are not commented, I miss the typical apoptotic DNA "ladder" with a smear at the lower range; may be there is only low apoptosis rate? try also other methods for apoptosis
