Human annexin V for apoptotic rat neurons? - may be a stupid question (Jun/02/2008 )

Hi!

I´m working with cultures of rat neurons (from embryos) and I wonder if I buy recombinant human annexin V...will it bind to my apoptotic rat cells?
When you buy an apoptosis kit with labelled annexin V, does this annexin react with most species or is it specific? Is the binding annexin V-phosphatidilserine specie-specific? I suppose it isn´t blink.gif

Thank you

Hi!
the bindin AnnexinV-PS is not specie-specific... it could be possible that you get slightly lower signal due to not very good interactions...but I'm sure you will have nice staining
but why human? usually it costs a little more to buy "human" stuff smile.gif
