There are some mirror systems reducing the blind angle. Otherwise I learnt to turn around the head and really look behind and not to trust mirrors. Easy but it helps biggrin.gif .

no speed limit on the highways in Germany, am i right Dr Hobs? closedeyes.gif , blind spots can cause lots of accidents.
if you're driving and your window is down you can also hear if there's a car next to . drive safe.

Oh yes, one of the insane backward freedoms here. Though, if you drive on an outlying and therefore empty highway, it can be fun. Otherwise only stress. For these fast cars and this traffic volume you need cameras or radar to drive safe (perhaps they have?) laugh.gif

Always check the blind spot by looking over your shoulder before pulling out of a park, reversing, or changing lanes. This is one of the first things taught in driving classes in my experience.

i'm a cyclist so i can see and hear all round - but i do worry about other peoples blind spots (and stupid people)

No one told me about this before....i discover it myself
after i got the license, i tried to take a short journey around..Dad was with me..
i decided to takeover and turn right but there was a car in my blind spot...dad shout at me ....that time i thought that it was my fault unsure.gif

woooooo...
it was the first horror for me in driving tongue.gif

sometimes i rather turn my head to make sure really NO CAR before i make a turn or change my lane.

you can reduce the blind spot by adjusting the position of the side mirrors. have them so you can't see the back of the car, and then move them 1 mc over more. apparantly this works.
