ICE HOCKEY World Championship - starts today (May/02/2008 )
I hope that there are many or only enough bioforumers waiting for the start of the

organised by International Ice Hockey Federation IIHF.
The speedy and physical sport of interference, tripping, kneeing, roughing, elbowing, etc and all the other legal and disallowed body checks make this an interesting sport and an exiting (or violent?) event. May the best (or most aggressive?) team win!
Germany's aim are the quarter finals, a quite realistic view I guess, though we have players from Canadian and US teams...

Actually seems to interested in ice hockey

And since when did you become interested in Hockey, dr Hobbes...hmm..the prehistoric sports where you get to beat your enemy with a stick?

cream cheese flyers? it's sad to be eliminated by a team with that name casey!
no hockey on tv here (not even on cable tv) so i'll have to follow the hockey world cup at bioforum
Damn Flyers!
We dominated almost every game and they still managed to get away with the serie...
I hope they get crushed by the Penguins, even if I don't specially love Crosby
But anyway, Canada will win the World Championship!

And Germany won against Slovakia, the sixth best national team 2007. Norway should be not problem now...

It was still a darn good season for the Habs...the most excitement we've had in years

I went and saw the division IB in Sapporo the other week! Japan lost again Ukraine (some very large Ukrainian fans too!). It was the first time I'd ever watched Ice Hockey live and it was great... didn't have a clue about what was going on, but it was really cool! I particularly like the squishing against perspex that went on. My moneys on Canada 'cause I wanted to watch the Canuks play in Vancouver when I was there but I never did manage it.
The Canucks beat the Yanks..... woohoo....they scored during the last min of the third...woohoo....we're at the top of group B.....yeah, it's a glorious spring day.....
on a worrisome note: Koivu's gonna play for the Finns and probably some of the others too (those whose teams got eliminated from the Stanley playoffs....)
Hehe.
If Koivu plays like he did during the season, the Finland won't get any heavenly help from him
(Go Canadians, go!!)
