Free and flexible Electronic Laboratory Notebook - free ELN (Apr/21/2008 )
We recently launched iPad, a free flexible electronic laboratory notebook for experimental researchers: http://ipadeln.com. It improves the management of research-related information in order to save time, improve collaboration, and help people to treat the results of their work with the respect that they deserve.

are you ever going to visit this forum again or am i talking to myself?
Yeah, he's a plant. He's posted three times now about this.
I've PM'd vetticus about it.
well i'd guessed that - the program looks decently set out but its all online - whats the point - freeware without the free or the ware

You don't need to be online to use the software, you can save locally as well. But you won't have as advanced of a functionality unless you also install the server on your computer. This is done, in part, to encourage sharing

I am not sure what you mean by a plant... But I'm sure I am not one. I posted the topic in only appropriate forums as it fits several categories. Was I not supposed to do that?
Well, I suppose lab notes that are kept off site would help in the event of a fire or whatnot but are they secure?
Anyway, I like my lab notes in a lab book...y'know, a real actual factual book that I can write in at the time and carry around with me. I can't be bothered with One Note or any of these electronic things. What's the point of them? Where do you put your lab doodles and little charts and graphs (scan them in?!)? A decently kept lab book is all you need.

Just curious, what made you think that it's all online? It is not at all the case. It's a software that you download and install locally.

The notes are secure.
Regarding your question of what they are for, it is clearly argued on our website (ipadeln.com).
